Short term position at Jewish Community High School of the Bay
http://www.jchsofthebay.org/ Page/About-JCHS/Employment
Substitute Arts Faculty
Due to a colleague’s family emergency, JCHS is seeking an educator for Studio Art and AP Art History classes for fall semester 2015. Classes include Intro to Studio Art, Intermediate and AP Studio Art 2-D, and one section of AP Art History. We anticipate the position will be a temporary one for the first semester (mid-August 2015 through January 2016).
Requirements of the position include teaching three to four sections, with three or four preps; meeting with students outside of class for extra help; engaging in the work of the department, including collaborative work with colleagues and the department; and participating in community meetings and activities. We seek candidates who balance a passion for their subject with a profound interest in helping teenagers learn and grow. Candidates should have strong academic and pedagogical background in the subjects they teach.
Faculty commitment to the mission of the school is essential, but as our diverse faculty demonstrates, religious affiliation is not a factor in hiring.
Interested candidates should email a cover letter, resume, and names of three references as one PDF document to jobs@jchsofthebay.org.
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate's education and experience.
