Part-time opening at Marin Country Day

ART TEACHER
Faculty Position (Part time for January-June 2015)
Upper Elementary Grades
Reports to Division Head

Marin Country Day School is looking for a gifted educator who is passionate about teaching elementary art. We seek an educator with a demonstrated background and or interest in curriculum development, technology integration, environmental sustainability, and cultural competency. Also, we seek an educator with the belief in teaching with the interests of the whole child in mind, through careful attention to a developed advisory curriculum.  Our approach and philosophy centers around collaboration, thoughtful innovation, team building and leveraging diverse and multiple perspectives.

We seek a part-time art educator with the following to fill in for a leave:

  • The ability to teach drawing, painting, ceramics and printmaking with an emphasis on mixed-media
  • Knowledge of computer graphics and multimedia
  • The ability to teach a wide age range
  • The ability to apply knowledge of art history
  • Motivation to collaborate with teachers outside the department, particularly on projects with a multicultural orientation that link to the grade level curriculum
  • Teaching experience, organizational skills and a commitment to professional growth
  • Awareness of eco-friendly/ environmentally sustainable techniques

Job Requirements
  • a minimum of three years experience as an art educator
  • Bachelors Degree
