grades in art
At Saint Mark's School we are in the process of changing our criteria for grading in the arts. We are in the beginning of this process, but I was hoping for some feedback. This is what we are playing around with:
Artistic Application
Shows craftsmanship
Applies new skills
Creativity
Demonstrates artistic talent
Stretches his/her imagination beyond the expectation of specific assignments
Respect
Shows respect for artwork
Shows respect for materials
Shows respect for fellow students
Shows respect for teacher
Cooperation
Listens attentively
Uses time constructively
Follows direction and class rules
Cooperates with fellow students/teachers
Effort
Applies him/herself to the task
Focuses on work
Uses a quiet voice
Helps with clean up
Any suggestions, comments or just sharing what you do would be helpful and appreciated.
Thank you for your time,
Karen Klier
